           Welcome to my website!

Research interests

My research interests lie within conservation biology and ecosystem ecology in a broad sense;

in particular food web ecology on a larger scale, such as ecosystem connectivity and questions like how cross-boundary fluxes affect food web structure and ecosystem processes.

I am also interested in invertebrates in general, and spiders in particular.

Marine subsidies

I defended my PhD thesis in 2009 at Stockholm University. The subject of my PhD project (with Peter Hambäck as supervisor and Lena Kautsky as assistant supervisor) was effects of marine subsidies on shore ecosystems, focusing on the role of spiders in terrestrial food webs.

Ecosystem services

2011-2013 I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Research and Development Institute Aronia (Novia University of Applied Sciences and Åbo Akademi University) in Ekenäs, Finland.

Here I worked within the EU project Green Islands, mapping ecosystem services on islands

in the Finlandian, Swedish and Estonian archipelagos.

Green Islands

In the Green Islands project, I worked with questions such as which ecosystem services are being used by people on archipelago islands in the Baltic Sea, and how these ecosystem services are maintained on the islands. I mainly worked with socio-ecological questions concerning awareness and attitudes to nature, environment and conservation associated with ecosystem service function, utilization and maintenance on archipelago islands.
